In the past five years, I’ve done a lot here in Switzerland. I’ve hiked more trails than I can count. I’ve watched the snowman explode during Sechseläuten, fully embraced nude sauna culture, cheered for the cows parading down the alp in their flower crowns, danced at Street Parade and Züri Fäscht (twice!), ran the Zürich half-marathon. But today, I thought it would be fun to recount a few things that, even after five years, I haven’t gotten around to yet.
Berlin, the vibrant capital of Germany, is a city that seamlessly blends history, culture, and modernity. With its fascinating past, diverse neighborhoods, and eclectic culinary scene, Berlin offers travelers a unique experience at every corner. Join us as we explore this dynamic city over a long weekend, indulging in delicious food, discovering hidden gems, and soaking up its rich history.
Colmar, a small village in the Alasce region of France, overflows with whimsy and charm at every turn. We spent the day eating and exploring, and had a particularly memorable lunch.
In the summer, Raunaq and I are focused on high alpine hiking. But in the spring, when all the snow packs are melting, there’s no better time to wander through a Swiss valley - especially if that valley is the land of the 72 waterfalls. Lauterbrunnen might just be the most whimsical place in all of Switzerland. Which, in a land full of storybook towns and rolling green countrysides and aquamarine lakes, is saying something. It’s modern-day Rivendell, and it is spectacular.
